The Kids of Jeh Kulu

Khadija bangoura, has been dancing and drumming since she could walk and talk. She is multi-talented and sings as well as she does everything else. She attends Jeh Kulu rehearsals with her parents Ismael Bangoura and Autumn Mayer, and all the while keeps up with her school work.

Awa Drame, probably started dancing in the womb. There is nothing she would rather do. She is a charismatic performer and loves the spotlight. Her mother Jamaica White, Jeh Kulu dancer, has passed on her love and talent to her daughter. Perhaps her sister Estlyn, born in July of '07, will follow in their footsteps!

Ibrahima Boca Bangoura, is already a strong and serious musician. He takes after his father Ismael Bangoura in his talent and natural musicality. He plays djembe and doundouns, often holding it down for dance classes, and performing with his mom and dad. He is naturally curious about all musical instruments. Boca is a always a crowd favorite.

Gracie Bangoura, could be seen bouncing, clapping, tapping and drumming away before she had her first birthday. She has a keen musical ear, and is picking up the dance with the help of her big sister Khadija. She is always a big hit when she performs with Jeh Kulu. To top it all off, she plays a mean doundoun too!
